Darkstalkers Contest Entry: Anastasia

Another design for yet another contest! This time, it’s for the Darkstalkers “Embrace the Dark” character design contest.

This time I tried to embrace a more “Capcom”-styled design sense. Rather than focus on gratuitous detail, I strived to make a unique silhouette with distinct costume parts. I was hoping to achieve that with the shape of her dress, her hat, and her cross-bar handle, but I think I actually could have pushed it a lot more, in retrospect.

I'm also aware that Darkstalkers already has a Marionette girl, but she's just a mirror character so I wanted to maybe help reimagine that concept into something unique.
